Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I'm 39 years young, and a true R/C modeller/ pilot. I am refinishing a very nice, 1:9 scale R/C, BVM (Bob Violett Models) F-16 C. Originally this frame was flown as a ducted fan, but now I'm converting it into a real turbine powered plane. As you all know, here in Norway we have the block 15 A model with drogue shute compartment. This plane of mine was originally finished as a Norwegian 331 SQN, but since it is a C model, I want to paint a colour scheeme that really exists as C model with this compartment.
Some years ago I found a Italert 1:48 kit that features this C model. Now I hope to find good pictures of a plane from Israeli A.F - 105th SQN - Hatzor. This plane is camouflaged light blue/ grey, and the vertical fin has a scorpion on it.
Anybody out there who might be able to help me out here?
Regards
Finn Hermansen

You're Norwegian and you're name is Finn? how ironic Nah, just messin with ya Finn, welcome aboard!
Have you heard of the Isradecal book on the F-16C Barak? It's got excellent info on what you're looking for. I'll look at my copy of it and see what I can find for you. Any particula a/c # you're looking for? Also, check out our photo gallery here for the pics of Israeli Vipers. |

| Damn, you could terrorize birds, furry woodland creatures, and small children with that machine. . . |

As far as I know, the only two F-16's that were ever painted in gray in the IAF were neither F-16C nor from the 105th "Scorpion" squadron. They were an F-16A #752 from the 144th "Guards of the Arava" squadron and an F-16B #979 from the 116th "Flying Wing" squadron, both were received from the USAF surpluses during the Peace Marble IV program back then in 1994, after the peace treatment with Jordan was signed.

| Oh, you wanted the gray one...missed that. But light blue? No IAF bird I ever heard of was light blue. |

It would even fit better if I was Finnish (from Finland)
Thanks, and yes. The tailfin no. 534 would be perfect, but any pic would be very nice, just as long as the scorpion on the vertical fin is there. I've run a search for "Hatzor" here, but no photo matches found. I attached the drawings from the Italeri-kit so you can see the plane and it's textures. The colors on the machine are Light Ghost Grey, Pale Green, Flat Tan and Dark Gull Grey. Sorry I mislead telling about light blue and grey at first. This was ofcourse all wrong. The plane I thought of here is a Greek one from their 330 sqn., and features ao. Intermediate Blue. If I don't succeed on getting photos of the Israeli one, I'll be going for the Greek one. |

OK, the standard Israeli scheme does not have two greys, only one gray, and two browns, plus the sky type S.
I'm gonna look at my Isradecal book right now.... |

Habu/ DeepSpace!
Thankyou guys! This is wonderful help! Really nice colourscheme, isn't it? I believe the brown is going to be more visible in the sky than the grey/ blue ones. Especially thinking of that my plane is running up there at more than 300 km/h...
Great help! Thanks again! |
