| Whoa no don't name anything a Buick... It's a saying at my high school: avoid Buicks at all costs- only bad drivers and cops own Buicks. Think about it |

| If we don't fund for JSF or F-22A, the money left over would be ill spent somewhere else. Lets look beyond the absolute best and give our fighting men/women something to fight with in the future. At this rate we might just have enough stealth planes to man museums. Phantasm is my favorite name for F-35, inspired by bad movies with awesome cars. |

Show me how JSF is war winning, when the USAF mission can be done well....without it. As for spending the money somewhere else.
-Proper amount of flying hours per year that are being syphoned off.
-Getting C-5 upgrades off of the snails pace path
-E-10
-B-1 upgrades to get better mission up times ( program already figured out, just needs funds )
-J-UCAV ( actually flies and drops weapons now and not bad on other progress )
-C-130 roadmap that makes sense
-A tanker roadmap that makes sense
-Numerous base logistics/support programs that are what allow the USAF to breath air on a daily basis
And a few other things...... |

I've always believed that "Hurricane" would be a good choice! If, memory service my right. During the Second World War. At least Great Britain, Italy, and Japan used the name on fighters. Considering that the JSF will be a international fighter program. What other name has been so widely used? It could also be called "Sea Hurricane" in Naval Service? Regardless, what ever the JSF is to be called. It more or less has to speak for the Majority! If, the Typhoon works for the Euro Fighter. I don't see why Hurricane wouldn't for the JSF. IMO |

| Just curious as to why you like Razorback? Here are some I like, for what it's worth: Mustang II (I know that won't happen), Gryphon, Wraith, Sparrow Hawk, Starfighter II, Lightning III, Shadowcat, Hawk (I know some people don't like bird names), Corvette (small lightweight and fast like the warship) |

Because Razorback is the only name that would fit the F-35 in terms of looks and capabilities (Which would primarily be A2G). Lets face it, the F-35, in my opinion, isn't sleek enough, or aggressive enough to deserve names like Sparrow Hawk, Starfighter II, Wraith, etc. As far as Gryphon goes, it's too close the Jas-39's name of Gripen (means Gryphon, Griffin, however it's spelled in English), so I doubt they would name it that. Also, to me F-35 Razorback just sounds perfect when said.
I also doubt they will name it after a car, since when most people hear the word "Corvette", they don't usually think about a warship or an aircraft. |

Whoa, lots of name assumptions, but none particularly inspiring
I propose "Wildfire" - AFAIK that hasn't been bestowed on any airplane yet -
Think of it advancing relentlessly and destroying everything in its path...
BTW, HNY guys |

Understand. I know you don't mean it this way, but "razorback" reminds me of a pig. But I do understand your reasoning. I still sort of like corvette. And when I thought about that, I knew it would be equated to the car. The British will probably come up with the name though, i.e. P-51 Mustang.
Hope the new year will be a blessed one for all. |

Considering that many countries will purchase the JSF. You have to have a name that translates to many languages............. |

| I'm thinking either Kite or Merlin. They're both names of raptors. |
