Four F-16 fighters, part of the Polish-US offset deal, have landed on the Krzesiny military airport, western Poland.
"The flight from the USA had no problems, the weather was fine. The aircrafts had a refueling stop in the Azores," spokesman of the military base Waldemar Krzyzanowski told Polish Radio Merkury.
The four planes need to go through customs procedures as well as a careful check-up. Later on, they will be used for pilots training.
Poland purchased 48 F-16s from Lockheed Martin as a part of a multi- billion dollar offset deal signed in 2002. So far the US delivered 41 aircrafts, more planes are expected in the summer. (jm)
