End of an era!

The good news is ... We're Pratt-less, all except one Laughing

USAF F-16D block 25 #85-1515 from the 416th FLTS taxis from the parking area at Edwards for its final mission on September 30th, 2010. This aircraft is the last standard block 25 to be retired from use with the 412th Test Wing and was flown to Davis-Monthan AFB for retirement. The pilot for the final flight was Maj. Andy Martin with Mr. Tim Kjonegaard, Flight Test Engineer, in the back seat.

Hello all,

Back again from a long "leave of absence" and this time with some updates for the 114th FW in Sioux Falls, SD as they should by now have received their full strength of Block-40s from Hill AFB, UT.

So far the following have been identified - markings are current as of Feb. 2011;

88-0418 unmarked.
88-0428 full SD ANG "Lobos" markings.
88-0463 full SD ANG "Lobos" markings.
88-0471 unmarked.
88-0474 unkarked.
88-0477 full SD ANG "Lobos" markings.
88-0480 unmarked.
88-0537 full SD ANG "Lobos" markings.

89-2064 full SD ANG "Lobos" markings.
89-2105 unmarked.
89-2125 still in 34th FS / HL markings.

So half of their fleet has been identified - still 11 to go and any additions are very welcome.

Greetings,

Henrik.

I can verify 2 more additions, as of April 6th both 88-2174 and 88-0512 are flying with the Lobos. Evidently both jets are fresh from PDM according to the pilot and while have a blank tail fin now, soon will have the Lobo's logo on them. I have pictures of both with blank tails, but I'm sure I will get some after they are painted.

That´s outstanding, Eliboom!!

88-0174 is an F-16DG [Editors note - corrected below to 89-2174]
88-0512 is another F-16CG

Thanks a lot!!

Cheers,

Henrik.

Thank you to all of those involved on this thread. This post is deep with information. One question still sticks out, are the F-16 units pages on this site being updated with the data that Henrik, et al have discovered since 2005? Noticing some dated information especially for ANG units:

SD's D model is 89-2174, not 88-0174

You are correct, I was going off the photo I took and thought the numbers on the tail looked like an 88, but if I would have taken the 5 seconds to zoom it, it obviously an 89, Embarassed
