I believe that Des Moines also added the "IA" tail code - A-7 wise - to their newly received Block-30s as the Block-42s did only carry the snake head??!!
Greetings,
Henrik.
Yep, you are absolutely correct! I could picture the Hawkeye, but forgot about the IA.

Was it VT ANG that was to receive 86-0262 from 178FW as well? Or.....
Hi Niels,
I do not know that at the moment. I would THINK it would be a possibility as the 162nd FS / 178th FW will transfer six of their Block-30s to the VT ANG.
As mentioned earlier in this topic some of the 162nd FS Vipers have already left for other ANG/AFRC and test units, but 86-0262 is among the Vipers still present in Springfield-Beckley, OH.
Just read in the March edition of Dispatch, The Texas National Guard Newsletter, that effective April 1, 2008, the following changes will take place:
HQ / 147th FW to HQ / 147th RW
111th FS to 111th RS
147th OSF to 147th OSS
147th MXS to deactivates (merges w/ AMXS & 147th LRS)
Also, per the USAF's recent directives, the 147th Maintenance Group will realign as the 147th Materials Group and will the 147th LRS under its control.
Well...off to new frontiers!

Does anyone know what Vipers from either NM or OH ANG that are slated to go to the 100FS/187FW ALANG?(s/n's if known)

I am not aware of any transfers from the NM ANG to the AL ANG??!! The 188th FS / 150th FW actually gained aircraft as a result of the 2005 BRAC decisions as 86-0330, 86-0340 and 86-0342 were delivered from the 523rd FS at Cannon AFB, NM.
Regarding the 162nd FS / 178th FS in Ohio F-16C+ 87-0222 has been transferred to the AL ANG - so far. More will follow.
Does any one have a pic of 87-0222 in the ALANG markings since its transfer from the 162nd/178th? I would like to see what it looks like in its new markings? (I think this jet was in Montgomery once before.)
I immediately contacted the photographer to get his permission to use these important shots on F-16.net. And I still await his decission.
Note: I joined the Scramble Messageboard in early January 2008 to widen my info horizons and online contacts, especially related to non-F-16-related OIF and OEF deployments. But, as this sample shows, itīs also good for hot F-16 info.
Surprise caught me yesterday as I got a note saying that F-16C+ 87-0292 might have transferred from the 188th FS / 150th FW of the NM ANG to the 120th FS / 140th WG of the CO ANG on Feb. 9th 2008!!
I was aware that the NM ANG would at some point "merge" with the 49th FW at Hollomann AFB, NM becoming yet another ACC/ANG combo, but I got the impression during a couple of visits to the 150th FW last year that these plans were a bit out in the future?!
reading some of the earlier posts, i was at Mountain Home, they are done transferring the F-16's they are no longer there. i did however see several go through the F-16 Depot line to get their "Thunderbird" modifications. I now work s a civillian at HIll AFB, in the C-130 docks and get to see all the F-16's come and go. My jet was the First block 52 to be completed there. tail number 92-3880.
