Right I know alot of people laugh at the Russian "plasma stealth" and like to point out possible limitations for the British active cancellation technology.

However, US scientists have announced today a Cloaking device... and I am not kidding you.

The cloak works on radio/microwave frequencies/wavelengths including radar; and effectively "bends" the waves around an object and does not reflect them.

An aircraft fitted with this technology would be almost undetectable at BVR.

Of course right now it is demonstrated on a copper tube and only in two dimensions, but it does look interesting.

This is not active cancellation or "plasma stealth", it uses some materials science black magic to give a material effectively a negative index of refraction (at a specific wavelengths in the microwave region).
