I work for a company contracted to design the hydraulic systems and components for the F-35 JSF. We are currently hiring a number of contractors and direct employees. Location will most likely be on site at LM-FW. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Below are job descriptions:
JSF Hydraulic Systems/Circuit Engineer
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
An experienced systems engineer is needed to support the development of the JSF F-35 hydraulic power generation and utility actuation systems. The candidate will be responsible for the design, sizing, analyses and test of hydraulic circuit(s), the preparation and attendance of review meetings and support of other tasks as required. Coordinates technical communication between Aerospace, customer and supplier teams for that sub circuit. This includes quick response to technical questions from the customer using engineering judgment or simple analysis methods (Excel spreadsheets) to support the daily system development work. Supports all system development tasks within the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Establishes appropriate flow-down of aircraft requirements to system level. Understands the system specifications, layouts and functions and the interfaces to other (consumer) systems.
Assists in review and refinement of system specification(s).
Determines component sizing and develops component specifications using customer data and/or own analyses.
Participates in the system and components development process by identifying potential weak points, and develops solutions based on engineering judgment, inputs from company experts, customer and other systems partners.
Develops or uses existing MS Excel based tools for quick system analyses i.e. thermal, pressure drop, flow.
Defines and coordinates system level analyses with company’s Analysis group.
Assists in meetings with the customer and other systems partners, distributes the results to the development team and coordinates actions as necessary.
Prepares system documents, e.g. description notes, analysis reports, certification reports etc.
Ensures information flow within the Jackson team and with other company plants to facilitate workflow, efficiency and quality of work results delivered to the customer.
Participates in the development of test and certification concepts for the system program.
• BSME or Aerospace engineering degree required. ME with hydraulic or aerospace experience is preferred. Mobile hydraulics is next on the list. Must have systems component experience
• Tools like Excel, MathCAD, dynamic simulation and analysis are preferred.
• Must have aircraft level OEM experience (Boeing, Mc Douglas, or other aerospace). Must have system level experience- system design work- system analysis – understanding of how a system works.
US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (Green Card), or Canadian Citizen (TN1 Visa) only.
JSF Hydraulic Component Engineer
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Initial assignment will be to assist with the integration of a hydraulic system for a premier fighter jet program: the Lockheed Joint Strike Fighter. The selected applicant will work with both internal and external customers and suppliers to provide the best design solution for the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates design requirements for hydraulic control valves, actuators, or other equipment from various internal and external customers. Prepares equipment specifications and drawings for externally procured items.
Reviews vendor documents for completeness, accuracy, and satisfaction of design requirements. Directs required design changes as necessary.
Performs a variety of design and engineering calculations generally involving the application of advanced but standard mathematical formulas and available tabled or charted data. May derive formulas for the set up and solution of engineering problems.
Participate in preparation of test procedures and specifications in conjunction with engineering assignment. Advise laboratory personnel relative to equipment operation, test requirements and procedures, etc. Assist in the evaluation of test results to determine equipment design and material modifications.
Monitor drafting and calculation work performed by drafting and other personnel to assist in accomplishing tasks. Assist engineers in developing final design configurations.
Analyze and prepare designs for component or subassemblies, standard products, to develop criteria for determining design modifications. Drive cost reduction results through analysis and preparation of engineering change proposals. Evaluate and establish root cause and corrective actions for unit non-conformances. Address problems/issues through root cause and corrective actions.
Prepare a variety of engineering drawings as required to determine the functional feasibility of design modifications.
Participate in the preparation of engineering proposals by compiling, preparing and providing technical data. Prepare and submit various reports related to assignment.
Coordinate phases of projects including recommending scope of project, cost and schedule estimates, developing a design to meet specifications, liaison with other concerned activities, etc.
• BSME or aerospace engineering degree ideal- 3.5 GPA or higher preferred
• Pro-E or ProMechanical experience is ideal
• Aerospace component design experience is key. Could be pumps- electric motors- valve design- filter module etc.
US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (Green Card), or Canadian Citizen (TN1 Visa) only.
