Does anyone know all or some of the eight F-16's that flew in Operation Opera (even the
F-15's if possible).
I know of 2 aircraft:
78-0311 #107
78-0342 #243
Thanks,
Jon Somerville |

Anyone who has this book, Bullseye -One Reactor by Dan Dan McKinnon, might have the answer? I would very much like to get one myself.

Answering a question from April...
The 8 IDF-AF F-16A participating were:
"Izmal Flight" from 117 Sqn: nbrs 07 (later 107), 13, 18, 29
"Eshkol Flight" from 110 Sqn: nbrs 239, 240, 243 (Ilan Ramon's, in position 4), 249
Better late than never!

| I assume that Ilan Ramon is the same one as was onboard Colombia when it disintegrated during descent? |

The Current Issue of 'Combat Aircraft' has an interesting article on 'Operation Opera'. Interviews with the crews who took part, maps and drawings. Worth a read. |
