Back when Aeromaster paint was still in production, they had the best tire black availible. Aeromaster's "Tire Black" looks the best in my eyes, but I've replicated it somewhat by mixing Tamiya flat black (aprox 70%), gunship gray (aprox 20%) and Dk. Blue (aprox 10%).
A straight flat black looks to pure, but by adding some gray(s) to it really changes the tone.
Just play around with some black mixes and see what looks best to you.
