I, personally, think that power is never enough. The only limiting factor is $$. Having several different planes is a pain, but most of them would be F-16s, so not THAT different. Moreover, with Typhoons and F-35s, it would be wise to retire the F-4s and older F-16s.
USAF has "old" planes, but has so many firepower that even flying "old" planes, they do the job pretty well... |

Why does Turkey doesn't buy F-16 block 60?
Because of the future EF2000 or F-35 <or both> purchase.Bying just 30 Block 60's would be a waste of money,without offering a considerable operatonal advantage<given that a 4th generation aircraft will soon be purchased>. |

Well, first off, we don't speak Spanish, we speak Portuguese as our primary language.
Second, we must protect the Amazon forest from possible invasors. No matter how good or bad we treat the forest, it is ours. So, I think we need all the firepower we can reasonably afford. I'd just love to see FAB operating some 100+ Flankers and, in the mid-term future, the PAK-FA, as participation in the project comes as a bonus for buying the Flankers. |

| TurAF 142nd "Ceylan" (Gazelle) squadron got the delivery of the first aircraft under Peace Onyx IV project today. The aircraft, whose serial number is unknown to me, is an F-16D Block 50+ |

Most probably. These 30 F-16s are going to be equipped with AN/AAQ-33 Sniper XR targeting and AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN navigation pods. |

| When the Block 40s get their upgrade, will they be using the proposed Aselpod? |

The CCIP project is underway, to be completed 2013 IIRC.
As for ASELPOD, I don't think the first of these pods will go to F-16s. The development contract covers production of 4 pods, to be tested on F-4E 2020. Integration on Block 40's may follow later. |

Thanks Orko. Good work on the IDEF 2011 pictures by the way
I always assumed that Aselpod integration on the F4s was a natural prelude to their integration on some of TuAF's older F-16s. I'm sure there is also an intention to market them for export so it would be interesting to see how much each one would cost. |

Turkish Aerospace Industries has unveiled and delivered its first Advanced Block 50 F-16 to the Turkish Air Force.
The new F-16 are similar to the Israeli F-16I.
Features include:
Conformal Fuel tanks increasing range by 40%
Integration with indegenous Turkish Air-to-ground missiles such as the SOM Stand-off cruise missile.
