From an Israeli news broadcast:

A small Hizballah “Babil” drone packed with 45 kilos of explosives downed by Israeli warplanes over coastal waters just north of Haifa Monday

Israeli anti-air systems tracked the drone-bomb from takeoff in Tyre. Hizballah is known to have received 8 of these drones from Iran. Unusual Israeli air activity of F-16 and pilotless craft over Haifa bay Monday night in case Hizballah sends any more of these drone-bombs.

I'm assuming that it was a viper, but I can't read/speak Hebrew to confirm it in more detail (please correct me if I'm misquoting!).

On a different note, does the IAF include downed UAV's as recorded 'kills' - I know a few RAF pilots who have have had 'interesting' discussions in the last few years as to whether they should be treated as a manned target?

Yes, according to Israeli media these were F-16s who took the UAV down. And whether it will be considered as a recorded kill, we will have to wait and see.

So, the big birght spot is the F-16 which flies from left to right, and the drone flies from top right to bottom left ? It may be the angle but it seems like a very off-boresight shot. Is that a Python kill ? Enlighten the newbie please Razz

Yeah, that is most probably a Python 4 or 5 kill.
