I don't know this 'red x' phenomenon, I use a real browser.

My employer has bought into the micro$oft philosophy so I am relegated to using Exploder...

Not on a 'corporate' machine - big brother is watching. Besides it's their PC, their LAN line, and they sign my check so its not my place to d/l software they don't want. Not worth my job.

Yeah that's true......can certainly understand that.
Here, I'm the on-site IT guy, I can usually fix the everyday problems that pop up. We have an actual IT guy, but we're such a small outfit, he only comes in when really needed. Whenever there's a real software problem. I usually handle the harware stuff, always had a knack for that. Software...not so much. But here we can pretty much DL and install whatever we want within reason. Just no pr0n, which is understandable.

At work I have two full height 19" racks of dual processor PCs all networked together. The application will only run under NT and our corporate IT group refuses to allow us to connect an NT system to the corporate LAN. W2K only for them, not UNIX flavors either. It makes moving stuff around a real pain...

I will say that I've had less problems with WinXP than any other windows I've ever used.
