OK, we had the discussion about dream cars so let's go one step further. What would be in your dream garage? Anything from tools/equipment to cars/airplanes. This way we're not so focused on one particular thing that gets our blood going!

Mine would include a 69 Mach1-with a 428, 4 speed, Shaker hood, red with black interior--and also a 2004 Mach1 to go with it. Next would be a vintage 427 S/C Cobra(not a restored one-a true vintage race car), 1967 Shelby GT500, 1992 SAAC MK1 Mustang, 1976 F-250 High Boy, 1979 Bronco, SCORE 4x4 Ford P/U, 2002 Super Duty w/7.3 diesel crew cab short box 4x4, and why not throw a 1968 Shelby GT500KR convertable for good measure.

For aircraft I would start with a P-51, P-38 and F-4U. Of course my shop would be big enough to hold all of my toys with all the lifts/tools to work on them.

Mine would have to start with an M-1A2 MBT, M-113A3, Caddilac Scout vehicle (sad to say I can't recall the designation), the Landcrawler (from Damnation Alley), Vector W-2, Pontiac GTO ('69), Corvette Stingray (early, '60s style) '71 Chrysler Imperial, Lamborgini LM-002, Hummer (original, or military)

The Aviation wing would have to have F-12B (Lockheed), F-104G, F-16C, F-4E, T-38 (with Mk US16L seats), Lear 35, and a P-51.

Aquatic- one LCAC, a PT-boat, Viking Longship, and ships of my own design.

Tool area would have to be almost equal in floor space to the rest of the area, and would cover all tools from models to prototyping to complex machining. Blacksmithing would have to be available as well. Storage area would be similar in size...

Rocket propellant manufacture and other POL-type stuff should have its own outbuilding along with ammo and rocket storage bunkers.

I'd also need a wind tunnel and sled test track, as well as a ballistic range at least 7km long for excercizing the big guns. Neighbors would be issued noise cancelling headphones...

kmceject, I got a ride on an LCAC once - used to work on the LCAC sim, we got an orientation ride on a real one down around Eglin and Panama City (panimosity)

PT boat would be cool.

habu2, were you inside or outside the control room on the LCAC? I saw a pair of them doing maneuvers near the Intrepid for Fleet Week a few years ago. I thought Harriers were loud until one did a sit-n-spin about 100meters away. I had hearing protection on, but was still nearly deafened. I felt bad for all the other spectators who didn't bring ears with them...

Well, I already have a bench and trim painted Ford Blue! By the way, you have a pretty impressive garage anyways! And Habu, I saw a Ford in your list too. My list was somewhat incomplete, I would have some civilian aircraft in there too ( and maybe an F-4 Phantom too--and you can't forget the OV-10 Bronco!). I'm what you call a performance junkie, and if I had the money to buy all of what I want I would probably have to have some "off brand" cars in there that I like too.

That is correct....in fact, I forgot to add another Ford:
Ford Tickford Falcon XR8

Ford is a completely different company outside the US. I'll rock a European or Aussie Ford before an American ANY DAY!!!

As for the other two, the Cossie Escort is just a sweetheart of a car. I just about burst my pants every time I see one. The RS200 is a monster, it holds the world record for fastesr 0-60 time. It was also a monster on the rally stage, with over 600bhp. Mmmmmmmm.....

I guess you'd call it the control room - or bridge, or cockpit, whatever. Three seats abreast, Commander, Navigator and Engineer IIRC. It's been 15 years or so, but I have tons of photos back home (Tejas), as well as three-view plans, etc. of the LCAC. A co-worker and I developed and implemented the techniques to render fully dynamic three-dimensional sea states in the computer generated visual system. That was quite a feat 20 years ago...

Is that the car that looked like a 92-95 Taurus SHO, only with a 302 and rear wheel drive? I saw one in a Super Ford once, unfortunately I lost that one! That car would make one hell of a sleeper!! I had a 94 SHO and I dreamed of that conversion many times!

Sort of....I was thinking more of the current version of it...well the last version anyway. Tickford stopped tuning them, and now Aussie Ford makes it under theor own label, and named them the GTP cars.

But yes, those are the cars that I'm talking about, with awesome V-8s and RWD.
