Hi all,
recently we had a fuel problem and I actually heard someone saying our crossfeed valves are more likely to cause an fwd imbalance even though it was mentioned in the technical manual that it could cause both fwd and aft imbalance. Is it because my defect was on a 2-seater (more pump at the aft) or does it have something to do with the aircraft CG. meaning to say its design somewhat like the FFD so as to avoid aft imbalance if it should occur?
Can someone advice me what type of imbalance will I get if my crossfeed valve has an internal leakage in a C/D model. is there any diff in the two?
Thanks in advance |

| In both Cs and Ds I've had more FWD imbalances than AFT. Per the -1 its normal to have to crossfeed once if you have a centerline and twice if you have wing bags. If you happen to have all three tanks then you could crossfeed three times in one sortie and call that normal. Anything more than that should be looked at. |

So do you all have any clues as to any specific reasons on why a FWD heavy condition occurs more than usual? |

| SnakeHandler, read the -1 again, you're only allowed one if you have just a centerline. You're allowed one if you have just wing tanks. You're allowed 2 if you have all three bags. No corrections allowed when you have no ext. tanks. |
