Got to see four Raptors do a flyby and break away in afterburner at the show today. LOUD. And impressive. Then the USN followed up with a F/A-18F piloted by (no sh*t) "Tina" and "Nuts". ROTFL!!!!!
Only got three of them in the picture and hopefully somebody will post better. |

| Yeah, Mark "Tina" Turner was the Hornet pilot- can't remember the other guys full name. It was funny- the T-birds started for their preflight checks, and every one went ga-ga over them thinking they were about to fly. Then these FIVE raptors took off, with great vertical climbs off the end of the runway before they headed off to the range. The 5th one just hung out to the east of the base, tooling around, doing flips, just like the one in the "raptor at langley" video posted here. EVERYONE forgot about the T-birds, and stood to watch the raptor goof off in the distance. What an incredible airplane!!! |

Greetings,
I have read this site for years but never felt the need to post. all that changed when I saw Lt.Col. shower perform his non- demo at hill. Sat. was great, but sun., was nothing short of mind boggling, cobras, somersaults and a helicoptery move that made me think he had entered a flatspin at first. Absolutely amazing! |

Where's the best place to find airshow videos? If one exists of this display (it is an F-22 you're talking about, right?), I want to see it! |

Now I wish I would've stayed for both days. I was there Saturday and watched the 5F-22As take off. The fifth one did quite an impressive climb than seemed to 'fall' before zooming out West of the base. Then, it did some aerobatics, although, it was hard to see (even with binoculars). I regret not going on Sunday. I stayed overnight in Layton, but left around Noon to make the 4-hour drive back to Mountain Home, ID. I was going to go to Sunday's air show, really just to see the Raptor again, but I needed to get back home by afternoon and I also had a pretty nasty sunburn. Too bad....sounds like I missed out on an awesome demo. |
