This thread is about the news here: http://www.f-16.net/news_article1825.html

It is said that the Bulgarian govt. asked for info about the possible sale of 16 new Vipers Block50.

Funny thing is they asked for information regarding the same number of Super Hornets (16, plus some F-5s for training) a full year ago, in June 2005: http://news.dnevnik.bg/print.php?id=7097

What does this mean? That they dropped the idea about the Super Hornets?
They should have, because the F-18E/F is an overkill both in terms of their needs and their pockets Shocked
_______________

Some info about the Bulgarian Air Force:
24 MiG-21 bis, about 2/3 of them operational, to be retired this year (2006)
20 MiG-29, 6 of them operational - refurbished in 2002-2003
39 Su-25, only 8 operational
