Just found this in USAF's online Featured Art Gallery.

Original caption: Thunderbird F-16 Fighting Falcon (color), Painting by Steve Doyle

Mid-res version: http://www.af.mil/shared/media/ggallery ... 02_019.jpg

This new topic should be a discussion platform, related to F-16 artwork. I would be very grateful for any support.

Mark Waki has also created some nice work to rival Rick Herter. I have the following 'Killer Scouts', ATK Thiokol Propulsion print in my collection

http://www.markwaki.com/pages/Killer%20Scouts.htm

Plus he's also done the following art of the F-16:

Falcons in the Fold , Gunfight at Dawn, The Spirit of Attack, Thunderbird Lead

Found this one on the Code One website, Bandit!. Depicts a US Navy adversary F-16N engaging an F-14. Artwork by Matthew Waki.

Code One also has work from Adnan Siraj, Rehan Siraj & others. These 2 I listed as the depict PAF F-16's.

While I do like Matts work, I prefer Ricks for two reasons. I used to work for him and we are close friends and most of his stuff is actual engagements, not fictional. Code One has tons of artwork!

Kind off topic, first request, have you guys ever seen a painting of F-14 shooting down Su-22s over Libya in the late 80s? Or was it Mig-23 in early 80s?

Now on topic, there was the artwork first (?) AMRAAM combat kill, launched by a F-16 and shot down an Iraqi jet, you guys have that?

Yup, its another Price Randall painting, except while the one he did for the 4 Jastreb kill mission was correct and he thought it was wrong, the one for 778's kill he thought was right, but it isn't 778 was a 19th jet when it got the kill with Gary North driving, not 33rd as everybody thinks.

If I was granted one "Genie" wish and it had to be practical (not a wish like, "A billion dollars cash") it would have been to be able to draw and paint like these guys. I would have easily pursued a course as a professional aviation artist. My buddy George is one of those guys that can grab a pencil and paper and knock out a fantastic drawing of anything with a few strokes. I can kind of draw after taking classes in Jr. college, but it takes days and is actually like physically hard work for me to get anything decent down on paper. Of course, if granted two practical wishes they would have been excellent math and eyesight and then I'd be posting comments from a different perspective! Very Happy

First one is titled 'Viper Venom' by Robert Taylor. Depicts 31st and 52nd AEW flying into Kosovo. Signed by two Desert Storm/Allied Force vets and former F-16 pilots, BrigGen Mike Boera and BrigGen Dave Goldfein.

Second one, by Rick Herter, commemorates the Sept. 11 attack on the Pentagon. Signed by the subject ANG pilot, and his wingman that day.

There's more F-16 art, (one commemorating the "Wolfpacks" from Kunsan, and one honoring the Thunderbirds) as well as other airframes from WWI to present (mostly WWII) at http://www.brooksart.com/index.html
