What got me confused with the manuals is - the A,B,C,D one is a bit generic, and is dated a year before the Zipper ended active service, to my knowledge, after that, all got left were those in Puerto Rico ANG 'till 1975. The specific C variant manual I have different cockpit arrangement, with single LABS timer over the throttle, something I didn't found on any photo, and I'm not sure how would this even work, unless B28 and other A-G ordnance was delivered only in level flight.

I just feel I'm missing something here.

Plus what was the real difference between Block 5 and Block 10 aircraft ?

Will probably have to take your advice TC, and go straight to JR007 with that.

Definitely. If anyone can answer your questions on the 104, JR's your guy!

Salute!

Zippers were still flying well into the 80's.

There have always been two types of fighter pilots. Those who flew the F-104, and those who wished they had.

There was a third type.

Those who flew against it and didn't fit into the other two categories.

Very Happy

F-104 was a beautiful machine, for sure the aft section, which got the most airborne views.

I think the front end must have been esthetically pleasing also. From what I can tell from pictures on the ground.

However, I would have loved to have flown it, primarily for getting chicks.

Salute

[Link pending approval] This is a great thread - I always loved the '[Link pending approval] Come to find out, a friend of mine at a company here in California is interesting in buying a real F-104 for a static display. Does anyone here know of a F-104 for sale? Esp in USAF regalia?

Thx
mike

Wow, a very nice [Link pending approval] But it's in the UK and would probably have to be disassembled to be shipped to California.

Did the USAF ever fly the G model?

Sundowner,

Never flew a Zipper equipped with LABS, or the 'C' model, so I can't comment on it.
