The US does indeed care about the Israeli-China relationship, and why not? China has been buidling up their military big time, you add their economic power, their huge population, and some top notch US/Israeli technology and you have a monster on your hands...you're kidding yourself if you think China has given up on Taiwan, and its only a matter of time before they act, the last thing we need is Israel speeding up the path to war with techno sales...

I meant regarding Israel receiving the F-35 or not. Right now the US isn't willing to approve Israel to upgrade the F-35 with its own tech.

Seeing exactly zero are flying today it's a mite premature to conclude US intentions regarding F-35 & Israel. All we know so far is the Israeli desire.

I can`t see why Israel shouldn`t get the F-35. Israel is still getting F-16s

I can, when the USA gave Israel the F-16's number one, the F-16's had been in operations for many years. Second, this now is after the Israeli's, with poor security, allowed the sale of information to PRC on the Patriot Missile System, came to public light.

On the technology the USA is most concerned about, neither Israel nor the PRC are close to what the USA is producing. The AESA radar, stealth technology, carbon fibre technology and, the computer technology. This is also all after to the Patriot technology being compromised.
It is one thing to produce indigenous systems for your data link, communications, etc. it is another AESA radars or carbon fibre material and RAM designed to be very stealthy.

What bothers me the most is that this is a marriage of convience, a shotgun wedding! Blair is suffering from many scandals right now. One minister in charge of law enforcement was in a scandal in which the illegal aliens who commit crimes in England, after prison are to be sent back to where they came from, were not sent back and these prisoners were being released back into the English society and over 200 commited serious crimes including rape and murder after their release. Another the national health system has nurses protesting, and a cabinet minister was caught having an affair with his secretary.
These scandals along with the war in Afganistan and Iraqi have produced an envirement where blair is as popular as bush.
I see this agreement as bush helping blair out by providing the source codes for the computer software, information on the RAM and, other items. Blair can now tell his defense industry what a great deal he got them. This will help keep blair in office longer it is hoped.

Let us just say, after the Olympics in August 2008 I would not want to own any real estate in Taiwan.

Adrian, you are not planning you are indulging in idle speculation.

JSF Project
(Source: Israeli Ministry of Defense; issued May 22, 2006)

Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Jacob Toren, defined the press report attesting to a crisis on the JSF project as totally baseless.

"It is a concoction" he said. "Israel is part of the JSF Project. Project review meetings are taking place and there is a continuous progress."

He added that discussions on the final configuration of the plane for the Israeli Air Force have not been finalized yet.

I don't have the money to purchase real estate in Taiwan. I would place my money where my mouth is if I had the money, it has done alright on the NYSE. Let us just sit back and look at what happens.
