| Hello Lieven, thanks for keeping sticking to the forum, I am an old F-16 pilot and had learnt that Hawk aircraft has some kind of ram air driven(RAT) EPU a new thing for me. If any one can educate me, because civil liners have such systems with big fans where as this should be small and effective. Thanks again |

The F-4 had an EPU as well. Its fan was located in the left air intake, and was popping out in case of losing power while in flight. Here is a picture of it:

| Thanks DeepSpace, this seems a big arrangement for a big aircraft like F-4.After reading that Hawk EPU pops out in tail area, I wonder how small it would be and must be having a fan turbine instead of a fan like F-4. Anyway thanks for getting me started. |
