| Sorry no photos but I was in the 80th at the kun 90-91 and we had a few of the jets. They were known as watermelons and tootsie rolls because of their paint schemes. The Maint officer tried to get paint to keep up the schemes but was told NO. We had a ventral fin panel TCTO and the jets had grey ventrals but aggressor paint jobs. |

***Hi Guys, First post here!***
I don't have any pictures but I can confirm they were going to be based at Kadena. I was an F-15 crew chief at Kadena (67 FS) from 93-97 and we had a prior F-16 crew chief in our squadron who hated working the F-15. He always felt he got the shaft by being sent to Kadena to work the aggressors and then being lumped-in with us F-15 guys when they disbanded the aggressor squadron. The F-16s were going to replace the F-5s at Clark, then the volcano blew and they shut Clark down. The next logical place for the aggressors was Kadena because of it's central location and vast ramp space. It would have been cool to have them there though. I also missed the SR-71. A day late and a dollar short! |

| That name doesn't sound familiar. I left there and retrained to intelligence and spent the next 7 years doing unit level intel work in F-16 squadrons (421FS, 35 FS, 80 FS, 56 FW). |

I believe that some of the 26th pilot's flew Kadena Eagles while waiting for those F-16's .... Maybe TJStoney can add to this as well ..
Have a picture myself of one of the F-16's being flown by a Hill ALC pilot in Sept 1990 ..

Hello all,
Having re-started my interest for these "Big Mouth" aggressors I have the colors of the following;
88-0403 Grey tones
88-0405 Green, brown and tan tones.
88-0406 Green, brown and tan tones,
88-0407 Grey tones.
88-0410 Green, brown and tan tones.
Can any of You tell the color allocation for the remaining four;
88-0402
88-0404
88-0408
88-0409
Greetings,
Henrik. |

Henrik,
That will be the 18th Aggressor Squadron which will form from the current 18FS at Eielson. Here is the press release:
7/28/2006 - WASHINGTON, DC -- -- The Air Force will activate the 18th Aggressor Squadron at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.
The mission of the 18th Aggressor Squadron is to provide realistic, combat adversary training in air, space and information operations. Aggressor squadrons use enemy tactics, techniques, and procedures to give a realistic simulation of air combat.
The unit will stand up with 18 F-16 Block 30s and will later expand to 24 fighter aircraft. The squadron will be ready to provide aggressor training for Red Flag - Alaska exercises in Spring 2007. The squadron will also support training and exercises throughout the Pacific region and additional requirements of the 57th Aggressor Tactics Group at Nellis AFB, Nev.
The designation of the 18th for this Aggressor Squadron continues its long history in the Pacific. |

Thank You Baron,
But I actually know about the 18th FS reforming as the 18th AGS. I was referring to the 26th AS originally based at Clark AFB, Philippines and the above mentioned FY88 F-16s that were planned to reach this unit, but ultimately found their way into the 8th (T)FW at Kunsan AB, Korea, as the 26th was supposed to move to Kadena AB, Japan but in the end disbanded.
Personal note from me:
I doubt that 88-0409 and 88-0410 actually reached the PACAF theater, as these two planes showed up in the 56th TTW at MacDill AFB, FL in the same time frame as the rest showed up in Japan and Korea!!
88-0410 did, however, receive the three-tone brown, green, tan color scheme - I would be very interested in knowing what scheme 88-0409 (and 402 and 404 for that matter) received.
Greetings,
Henrik. |
