Freaking unbelievable... I was catching some shade under the F-14D and Elvis walked by, no kidding it was the King!

The F-22, the tail slides were Sierra Hotel, and the loops inside of 400 feet were flat scary. It was interesting watching the TF-51D and the F-22 do BFM. The Raptor did a 90 degree pull in less than 2 seconds and gunned the Mustang... Then he went back to holding altitude with the nose 70+ above the horizon.

The Raptor proceeded to ease down the flight line and do a 90 degree pitch into the vertical, climb vertically from its low speed entry, and do a negative push over to level flight. The roll rate reminded me of another Lockheed fighter that also howls, the Zipper, it was exceptional. It was nice to see they were opening up the “public” display a little with the tail slides and nose high loops. But don’t watch the flight line as the tail slides, loops, and dissimilar BFM happened while the F-22 was waiting for the Eagle Demo to complete and he was a couple miles from the field… And all the lemmings were looking the wrong direction. Doh

Oh yeah, it was definitely the King, or his illegitimate brother, "Oooooohhhhhh Yeah", you should have seen them darned pork chop side burns…

So, it's wasn't "officially" part of the act? What did it do on it's "official" act?

I would be interested to know how thw Raptor compares to the SU-27/30s which have been doing the same tricks for years, apart from crashing Wink

I was at the Columbus AFB airshow on Sunday & saw the Raptor Demo, he didn't do the 400ft loop Sad , like he did at Sun 'N' Fun, I know JR called me on Saturday & said....

"Dude!.. I Just Saw The Raptor Do A TAILSLIDE!"

So I called him back on Sunday & Said...

"Dude!.. I Just Saw The Raptor Do A Tailslide!"

he he he.

All in all, I can't complain, hanging out on the Strike Eagle, recruited some single VERY HOT Chicks, drinking a few beers & watching the Thunderbirds.. hard life ain't it!

Tyger,

You lucky Bastage Twisted Evil !!! You're gonna have to get out here to Aviation Nation so I can get seats like that Laughing !

I'll be at the Saturday show down at March ARB at the end of this month - kicking back, watching the T-Birds, and seeing what aircraft they let me sit on Very Happy !

Oh, and I think there'll be a Raptor fly by there as well, but I guess I can just go hang out over by Nellis Wink ...

On a somewhat different note, we got the order today, "What will it take to support Raptors for a committed air show team?"

We have to have an answer by June.

Is there a set schedule and where -22's will visit and fly? Or is this a random thing for some airshows this year?

The F-22 won't fly in the airshow circuit this year (as in airshow team) but will continue to do flybys on a case-by-case scenario.

It appears that it may not be until 2008 for a dedicated F-22A Demo Team. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
