Anyone know if there are any plans for a production F-22"B" or two seat version of the Raptor? I suppose that if there were going to be one it would have been out by now but, I'd love to see one. You'd think there would be one for training or something like incentive rides! Or maybe a future strike version to replace the mud hen.
But I suppose with the sims and methods of training that it wouldnt be neccessary. Any thoughts? |

Yep. They figure the sims and pilot experience are enough to solo the bird. No bucks, no backseat Buck Rogers, D@M%IT! |

Its not hard to fly. Even easier to start the thing up. Pilots solo with an instructer on the wing.

Despite what Hollywood may say, the F-117 seats only one. IP's fly chase with T-38's. They I belive 200 hrs in the sim before they get to play with the real thing. At the time I was there you had to have 750hrs as an operational pilot in another airframe before being considered for a seat.
Thanks for this post, was wondering if a 2 seater was in the works the other day, but never remember to ask. |

No butterbars for a while. The first one may actually come through a guard squadron before active duty. they are only taking guys who have experience in either the viper or the eagle. |

Its too bad that there wont be a 2-seat raptor. Redtail, as far as question about replacing the mud hen, there has been some talk of an FB-22. I dont know much about it, or if it will ever make it off the drawing board (most likely won't) but here are some links...

Don't know if you implied this Dan but the plans would call for this to be a 2 seater. So maybe that will give you guys some hope. ( I know it's just not the same. |
