| Yeah, that was our wing jet too. I'm involved in the investigation so I can't talk about what happened. Sucks for the pilot though. He was pretty excited about flying too. |

| And from what I have heard, life support got all the credit for him getting out. |

Yeah, but Egress is the one who actually maintained the seat that got him out, he would still be at the bottom of the sea if it wasn't for egress. |

| Of course they got the credit for him getting out, no one else works on the seat! No need to pat backs or lay blame until the investigation is complete. |

You are very correct about the blame.....wait until they are finished. |

| Of course if Egress gets a pat on the back for their system working and making sure the pilot was safe, then shouldn't the crew chiefs get the same pat on the back everytime the jet comes back code one? |

Nobody should be eager to get credit or point blame... the bottom line is that a human being survived. I am sure that the family of this individual is shaken up with knowing that their loved one brushed death.
As for the maintainers, well, I am confident that our crew chiefs, avionics, weapons, egress, life support, and all other involved agencies did their jobs correctly. Sometimes machines fail. It is ashamed to lose a jet, but it is always more difficult when a loss of life occurs in conjunction... This not being the case. |

| According to previous posts and the article above, it was 89-2013, the wing jet. |

2013 was the wing jet at one point I am sure, but was it still?
Two years ago I was TDY to the Kun, and it still had the wolf painted on the tail. To my understanding, that had to be removed. Any truth to that?
If it was 89-2013, that is too bad. I was actually the ADCC on that aircraft from 95-97 while assigned to the 69th FS at moody. TSgt Paul Spillane, at the time, was the DCC. Sergeant Spillane made master sometime after and may or may not still be in the AF. |
