Does anyone have any thoughts on the possibility in the near future(within
5 years) that may be the USAF demo teams for the F-15 Eagle will transition
to the awesome F-22A Rapto?
Or, is it just too valuable an asset to blast around an airfield in front of the general public for airshows? |

Already done....2007 season. Eglin retains the C demo, Seymour Johnson has the E, and Viper East and West remain.
The airframes need to be flown obviously, and the public likes seeing its investment "blasting around an airfield", since they own it. Its in the AF interest to generate as much public support as it can in the F-22. |

"Already done....2007 season". I know that there is a newly formed F-15E demo team, which should be awesome to see. In 2007, are you saying that there will be an official F-22A demo team or are they going to really showcase the plane in front of the US general public for the first time from regular units? In either case, if anyone has the tremendous opportunity to see this aircraft at an airshow(flying), please post some videos! |

| For the 2007 season, Langley will field a single ship, F-22 demo team in lieu of the current F-15C team. The demo routine is being developed as we speak, and will be a full-up demo, not the fly-by kind. Supposedly it is going to be rather eye-watering. There is quite a bit that goes into the demo, and it involves a lot of training and oversight....which I didn't fully realize until I started doing the research on the demo teams for our sheets. The other part I didn't realize is that the people on the teams do it as extra duty, and they aren't "full-time" demo pilots or crews. |

| Let's see... 70,000lbs of thrust coming out the end of maybe a 50,000lb jet using thrust vectoring.... I think I'd drive a long way to see that. |

No no no, I mean the new E model demo. One of their first shows is in Ft. Smith later in the month, so I'm headed there to get some reference pix....see, I just don't bug the living bejeezus out of people here....I do some of my own dirty work, LOL!
I would in fact drive wherever they want to see a raptor demo. |

From what I've heard, it's pretty much the same routine |

ACC doesn't have a dedicated website for the F-15E Demo Team... Yet, it is in the works.
Though the link below has the Mud Hen Demo's schedule on it, it's for ALL teams.
http://www2.acc.af.mil/airdemo/demo_schedule.html
The Lancers (333rd) are the folks that are going to have permanent "Demo Team" status for the next 3 years, though I have seen them out in the Eagles (334th FS) & Rocketeers (336th FS) Airplanes.
The Columbus show, is actually career weekend... I'll be there! |

No Problemo!
Refer to that link for the years demos & who is going to be where, anything else is probably just speculation or "Tentative."
