Just thought I would introduce myself. I'm a former F-16 Crew Chief. I was at Homestead AFB from '86-'89. At first with the 306th TFS and later we transitioned to the 308th TFS. I crewed a few different aircraft but was assigned the longest to 83-1084. This is a great website! I had always wondered what happened to my jet and now I know. Sadly it is sitting in the desert up on blocks.
Anyway, after I left the Air Force I went to work for Lockheed Space Operations Co. as a technician on the Shuttle. Now we are United Space Alliance. Been there for the past 16 yrs. Sometimes I think I should have stayed in. Would have hit the 20 yr. mark last year. Oh well, can't go [Link pending approval] Well, just thought I would say hello! |

Hey there ! Glad to have you around good buddy . Sorry to hear your jet's up on blocks, but maybe you can get the airframe through DRMO as a momento to put in the back yard ?
I hope you have fun on the site and I'll see ya around the boards! |

Welcome. Don't feel bad, I'm only 5 years older than the BLK40 I crewed at Hill. |

Your jet's on blocks and your base (Homestead) blew away in the hurricane. The good news you didn't have to relocate to Moody AFB!!!! |

[quote="Lurch"]Your jetI remember when I would be doing hot pit refueling we would get jets from Moody fairly often.
I had already left by the time Andrew came thru. Saw some pics of the base, devastation is the only word that describes it. The Phase hangar was twisted like a pretzel. |
