The US values all of her Allies, some of them have been drawn or became closer over the years...that's all, of course Britain and Australia (as are many other nations) have been close to us, we value them all but yes, these two are are held very dear.

No one in their right mind (in my opinion) would sell or consider "selling" their top of the line fighter or technology (in this case the F-22) just for cash or friendship, some things need to remain close, giving you (the owning nation) that perceived 'edge".

The National Defense of the creator and owner of the system should keep that basic principle in mind. There are others weapons systems (globally) that could and do help other nations if they need or want them.

I'd like to keep this one (F-22) in house, if you folks don't mind (no matter what reasons you all come up with to sell or share the technology)....for now, lets keep this system home where she belongs. I feel we collectively seem to sell most of "America" (her resources and property) too fast in my book anyway. Like it or not, there's my .02 cents, home grown for sure.

I have got to agree with you here Meat. It's not about allies. Some things transcend money and if we have to "prove" our friendship with the Raptor then we definitely would be selling it to the wrong country.

There is no current or projected threats that an upgraded Eagle or block II/III Rhino cannot easily handle. This is especially true when you throw in the availability of the JSF and that your allies has Raptors to help.

I agree as well... In fact the way I see it is that the more this technology is spread around the world, the more chance it could fall into the wrong hands...

Like I said the US has every right to decide what to sell and what not to sell. As an example, do you think the systems on the SR-71 would have remained secure for as long as they did had she been sold to other nations? I very seriously doubt it. They are doing the right thing keeping the Raptor for themselves. No question about it.

On the downside of this however, I suppose that also means that no-one else will get the benefits of the discoveries made when the scientists at Groom Lake have finished back-engineering those captured flying saucers, huh?? LMAO Sorry, just kidding... Very Happy
