Col. Eugene D. Hamilton, who has been listed as MIA since 1966, is finally coming home. His F-105D Thunderchief was brought down by enemy fire on January 31, 1966 while on an armed reconnaissance mission over North Vietnam in support of Operation Rolling Thunder. Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized.
Our prayers go out to Col. Hamilton and his family. |

I'm glad to hear this. There's still around 2,000 men from Vietnam who have never returned...It's a touchy subject with me, so I'll end by simply saying that I'm glad his family can now have some closure. Remember to raise your glass for Colonel Eugene Hamilton and all who are still MIA.

I agree with "TC"...bring them all home or send us back with orders to level the countryside.
Damn politicians and their twisted sense of justice (or lack of it).
I am sorry he had to come home under these circumstances...Rest in Peace Sir

We had a couple of full birds go as POWs as well...
I still see merit to the "Lead from the front, not the rear" mentality. We still have full birds fly regular combat sorties. |
