It was actually directed to falconfixer860261, Roscoe, and swanee as it seemed they weren't sure where the location was and I was poking fun in general. Very Happy

Actually, I guess I should be the last to do that. I've been to quite a few AFBs (and other service's bases/post) in my career, and yet if I see a picture of the base (particularly only a small section or portion of it), I sometimes may not recognize where it is at. Embarassed Laughing

Yep. After you've been so many places they start getting mixed up in the old IBM (Itty Bitty Mind). And it seems that most of the time it's dark and every place looks the same in the dark. Sometimes the best I can do is remember if it had sand or it was near water.

I've to to Nellis numerous times but I was usually hung over Smile

I actually saw a SAR image of Eglin in a radar book and amazed my friends by identifying it with only a glance. Didn't have the heart to tell them the image was taken from final (or at least the same angle) so it was VERY familiar to me Smile

Hey folks, Very Happy

Since the thread has a more general title ''All four F-22 bases'' 'cause of the pic falconfixer posted I guessed it wouldn't be too much trouble to post some further pics with our beloved gorgeous beauty of the skies hearing to the name F-22A Raptor.

These ones are from Nellis again.

Hope you like them.

This one was taken over Nellis at 13 November 2005 - Our beauty shinning over Nevada's desert sun.

This one as falconfixer's pic in front again of Nellis tower taken just only one day before.

And finally a very nice heritage flight one. Pity that an F-15 and and an F-86 were not present. Then we could title it 'The planes that ruled, rule and will rule the skies' just so that some gentlemen at last understand that if you want to know who BOTH MAKES AND FLIES the BEST fighter jets - and not only Wink - in the world then you have to come to Stateside.

Thodoris/RaptorFighterPilot. Thumb

Yep..It is Sunrise Mountain, Vegas, I'd know it anywhere (spent enough time on that ramp).

It's Nellis. I have it (and most other AFB) bookmarked on google earth and I took a look with the tilt on full and it's the same mountain in the background
