Are the Full Scale Development F-16s painted overall Light Ghost Gray? The picture on page 5 of Lou Drendel's "Viper" book of the 4th FSD aircraft would seem to indicate that, but it's in black and white and I want to make sure.

No, there were several FSD paint schemes. 75-0745 wore the red/white/blue "rollout" scheme for most of its test career. I have better info at home on the other FSD schemes, I'll look it up and report back.

FSD #1 75-0745 wore the red/white/blue "rollout" scheme for most of its test career.

Late in the FSD flight test program -0745 was repainted in overall light gray and fitted with the extended parabrake housing

FSD #2, 4, 5, 6 an 8 (75-0746, -0748, -0749, -0750, -0752) were overall light gray throughout the entire FSD program

Here is a group shot of all eight FSD birds with YF-16 #2 on the ramp at Edwards. I have labeled which is which, 748, 749 and 750 are indistinguishable in this photo so I can only tell the three are grouped together.
