| What is the proper green to use for an IDF Viper, and if possible, does someone know the F.S. code for that color? Thanks! |

I really don't know the exact name for it, but the FS code is FS34424.

| Some sources quote it is "Pale Green", but I think that must be the green that was used before. It is a little darker than the present colour. |

| Everything I have ever read about that scheme states that the green is F.S. 34424 "RAF Sky Type S". But, I've come to discover that anything about Israeli jets is somewhat of a guess. . . |

| Use Sky Type S, it's the closest and safest bet. If you're doing any shading, like I do, you're going to shade and/or tint the base color anyway. |

Hi all, it has been a long time since I last posted. Looks like, I have missed out quite a bit.
Kinda off topic, but on the subject of modeling IAF Vipers; I have bought the IsraDecal 1/48 F-16C/D. I can't help but observe the 2 different Orange & Red "Danger Ejection Seat" stencil.
I was under the impression either the red is meant for blk 30 while the orange is meant for the blk 40 or visa versa. However, under a closer study on the IsraDecal F-16C/D Barak publication, my initial impression is incorrect. It is not conclusive, red/orange is employed by certain sqn either.
Appreciate if anyone could shed light.
cheers, |

| What do you mean? Do you see some a/c with orange, and some with red? But no way to discern when and which a/c started using them? |

| In the same Isra book I think it states that the IAF repainted the orange stencils with red when they went through maintenace there in Isreal. So, like I've accerted before, what ever you do when building an IAF jet is going to be an educated guess. . . |

| Well yeah, but the Isradecal books are chock full of illustrations and pics, and you can extrapolate what you don't know. |

Early USAF triangles were orange, now they are all light gray. I would think it is more an indication of when the photo was taken. Clues like this establish a timeline, just like on a certain TV show. |

Yeah, CSI. I can't see why that show is so popular. The plots practically shout with foreshadowing - you would have to be the corpse they are examining to not figure out what happened before they reveal it on the show... |
