My name is Russ and have always dreamed of being a F-16 / USAF pilot as my grand father was a career pilot and commander. He graduated from WEstpoint in Jan. 1943 the only year they did it early b/c of the war. Then he flew for the 446th BG 8th AAF. He flew 23 missions then the war was over, He then Flew B-29's over Korea, and then in charge or commander of a B-47, then a B-52 Wing. Then he was Base Commander of Hill AFB from 1969 - 1972 (Col. William D. Kyle). He retired in Ogden and I would come visit him every summer and winter from the age of 5 till present, I am 28. The F-16 was and still is the main fighter jet there. As a retired Base Commander we would go to the commissary then watch the sweet 16's take off and land. [Link pending approval]

My uncle was a F-4 Driver as well so I have always wanted to fly jets. The sad thing is my vision got very poor during senior year in high school so that I must wear glasses. Thus ended any dream of flying those jet fighters. I went to VMI for a year but was not my show to not be able to fly in the end.

Thus I have become a Military and F-16 buff for my own hobby. Well I am glad to have found this site and it seems it visited by pilots and dreamers like myself. A wealth of information about the '16 that I have never seen before.
