I was at Hahn from November 86 to July 91. I'm a fuel shopper by trade. I was in the 10th from 86-87, 496th from 87-88, and then they put us all in CRS. I left the shop in Oct 90 and worked in MOC from then until we put the lock on the gate. For all of you in the 10th..I was the one that coordinated your depployment to Desert Storm and I'm the one that kept your stockpile of bombs and missiles up to snuff. I've got the Achievement Medal to prove it. Hahn Hawks forever baby! Beer

Lt. Tom Doyle was flying out of Hahn in March of 1988. Please write to me if you new Tom. I collect anything about Tom from his years in Civil Air Patrol, USAF Academy in Colorado Springs and later years untill his crash on March 31 1988. My email avolant@yahoo.com. I was his first flight instructor.
I found this on this website:
31 Mar 1988 1st Lieutenant Tom E. "Popeye" Doyle

Lt. Doyle was a pilot's pilot. He was a rare person who understood his role as well as ground crew. He gave us great respect when around us. A truly great man.

Tom and I were classmates during UPT in 85/86.

I still remember him as a great guy.

Hard worker but at the same time fun to be with.

Big loss not only for the viper community.

I am seeking to have contact with peaple who new Tom. I was his flight instructor in August 1978, Dillingham airfield, Oahu, Hawaii. At that time Tom was 14-15 years old, cadet of CAP. After 10-12 days of training flights I let him fly solo glider "Schweizer SGS 2-33" .

I met Tom and his father accidently one day at Vacaville gliderfield near San Francisco about 85/86. I was happy and proud to hear that he became flight instructor, just graduated AF Academy in Colorado, looked forward to be assigned to F-16 squadron.

Than 2-3 years later it was March 31 1988. I wish I did not buy newspaper that day. I will always remember his smile.

Only left are memories of good times and photos.
