Hi,
Frankly speaking, I haven't visit every corner of this site...yet
But I have a question and suggestion on the site. Where can I find a section which contain 3 or 4 view drawings of F-16 scheme, especially the exotic one (well, I mean besides those 2 or 3 tone greys...) ?
If there is not any, why don't create a small section for F-16 scheme, based on country ? For i.e there are scheme drawings for every aggressor F-16, or Venezuelan Viper, or even Indonesian...
I believe there are many F-16 fans here who willing to help.
What do you think ?
Cheers, |

Hi guys,
I agree it's a great idea and we'd be happy to provide a place to put that information. It's an idea we've been thinking of for a while, but we never found the time to do the research. So if we would find some volunteers who can help us get the necessary information and paint schemes, that would be perfect.
Each color scheme could have its own page with a 4-view drawing and some text.
One remark: in order to keep the layout of the site "clean", it would be nice if all colorschemes would be more or less the same style and scale. I know it's a detail, but we're kind of fanatic about the look 'n' feel of the site
If there are any volunteers that are willing to help us with such a section, just let me know. Even if you only have a single paint scheme to contribute, that would help us a lot.

Just to get things started, I've created a photo album in which you can upload color scheme examples.
http://www.f-16.net/modules.php?set_alb ... _album.php
Album is only visible to registered users. So if you have any color schemes available, feel free to upload them ! Once we have a sizeable collection, we can use these images to create a dedicated color scheme section.

Would scale kit/decal instructions showing paint schemes and decal placement be acceptable? I obviously have a ton of those... |

| Oh no, that's not the one I was looking for Deep, that's the Don Color onr. Not that they're not good graphics, they are, but they're terribly low-res. I thought you mich have something higher res. |

If you want the Don Color schemes, we can all upload them, but like Habu2 said. One, they're low res. Two, they're copyrighted.
BTW, if anyone is interested in painting these kind of things, we are still looking for a graphics designer for our site.
The Don Color paintings can make a good start for someone who is willing to paint these things in high res. Possibly even on a 3D version of an F-16. The first thing this designer would have to do is find a good example of a 3D view off course. All suggestions are welcome.

| There are many accurate paint skins (textures) out there for Falcon 4.0. Screen shots of those might be helpful, especially if someone has F4 and a video card with anti-aliasing capability. |

habu2,
yeah some of the F4 skins are really good. No need for taking screenshots, the skins are packaged as BMP files so you have direct access to the original skin. However, a lot of them are low res, and the skin files are cut in pieces (one for the tail, one for the left wing, etc). Also they're "stretched" over the airframe so the perspective isn't quite right.
The main problem for me is knowing which skins are accurate - havin a collection of accurate (but low res or crappy) color schemes would be acceptable for me, because I could retrace them on a high-res "blank" F-16. So I think the model kit paint schemes would probably make a good starting point ? By retracing the schemes we also avoid copyright issues.
thanks

Stefaan, I was thinking of the 3-D rendering.
On a slight tangent, how about a scale model category in the gallery? We could probably collect photos members (and others) have done of the different countries.
Also, don't forget the numerous paint schemes worn by the USN/USAF adversary/aggressor squadrons... |
