Sweet; can you give us any details? The article was pretty vague on the purpose of the exercise. (other than to simulate combat in SW Asia) By the Air Craft selection it sounds like the focus of the operation was techniques for a-g? true? What role did the F-16s play and what F-16 units were there? What gaurd units were there? Anyways, I of course dont want to hear anything classified or sensative but if you can tell us more MATMACWC I would love to hear it!

Aiight. It was a dynamic targeting trial using command and control through ground based agencies and airborne AWACS. Yes, it was only air to ground and (BTW) it wasn't totally the way we fight in SWA. The F-16 units were only Shaw and Macentire ANG (spelling?). The F-16 would check in to a certain area (think kill box) and given their targets. There were also A-10's, F-15E's and Rivet Joint. The tankers were all out of Mcguire. It was pretty big (STS) and all over the local news last friday night. It was cool!!
