So Raptor has two main bay configurations, at present:

1. Six LAU-142/A launchers carrying an AMRAAM C each.

OR

2. Two AVEL and Two BRU-46/A carrying AIM-120C and a GBU respectivly.

So far, so good. Now my question is, are all those racks permantly located in the bay? For example, when the Raptor is running around shooting down MiG's with a full bay of Slammers is there a pair of BRU-46's bolted in waiting for the next mission. Similarly, when the opposing air force refuses to come up and dance, are there four empty AVEL sitting in the bay whilst the BRU-46 take the load.

Or is it the case that four AVEL have to be temporarily removed to fit two BRU-46 (or vice versa)?
