Hi guys,
I guess I have misunderstood the question about the clipped fins
But I have found out that the RNLAF uses the clipped ones and that they never flown with the other ones.
All I could find out was that the YF-16 had different pylon tanks and that was the only type with the pointy fins. It's toobad that I couldn't find any pictures. I have this info from the old crewchiefs in our sqn.
I have the picture so you can see the pylon tank we use right now.
and that it's just like the belguim ones.
I am sorry that I kept the hopes up for the right info on this.

| Yeah Henk, we were never doubting that they use the clipped fins. I understood it as you were saying that RNLAF used the pointy fins. We're saying we've never seen any pics of any operational Vipers with anything BUT the clipped fins, like the pic you posted. The DACO book makes it a point to mention that the model companies got it wrong, everyone uses the clipped fins. |

| Yes there were pointed fins on wing tanks, I worked 78 and 79 model blk 10s at Macdill in 1985. If I remember correctly they were a bit smaller ( the fin)but the big thing was you could not mix a clipped fin tank and a non clipped fin. They had to be the same. |
