Yesterday i glued the last tail on the one of my F-16's. It was the tail from the RNLAF 316 sqn anniversary bird. After the glue was dried i use milliput to fill up the seam between the fuselage and tail. Now i only need to touch the seam and some areas on the tail and he is ready for future and decals.

The rest of the time i spent on completing the ordenance and working on the HUDs.
Because i'm building a Block 40 F-16 from Aviano it needs a WAR HUD. Luckily the Eduard PE has one. So after cutting bending and securing the parts structure. I glued it on the glareshield. Now it only needs paint and his glass sections.

The stage of decalling is coming closer and closer. I only need to touch up the paint, add some little bits and detail lights etc. More progress soon.

Yesterday i added the final antennas on the nose. I had the scratchbuild the Angle of Attack antennas on the Revell F-16. Cause Revell doesn't have them in there box, i made them from 0.5 mm thin wire.

Because most birds were still drying from the paint i gave them for the second time i started on the tank for the RNLAF 316sqn anniversary bird. First up i already had painted the front yellow en the middle section white and today i placed all the decals from the Dutch Decal sheet on it.

Still have to add the service markings for the tank and then the final finish.

And for your viewing pleasure a pic with all the weapons i'm using minus the fueltanks:

Yesterday i started painting small bits on the planes. I started to paint all the lights on the F-16 silver, when its dried the right colours for the light is applied. I also repainted the blue ring on the PW burnercan. And is placed the glass section in the WAR Hud, Eduard PE supplies for sections and you only have to use 2 but its nice that the supply 4 cause i destroyed 2 of them Razz

After that all i started adding static dischargers on the Hasegawa F-16's, i used the hairs of a toothbrush for it with a little super glue they came on nicely.

And yesterday i discovered that Revell was planning to release a Twin Seater 1:72 F-16 al a long. There were 2 little holes onthe glare shield of the back cockpit and i didn't know what to place there so i checked the Daco Book and saw that there has to be a handle bar for the back seater. And i discovered that part 135 on the B sprue, with alle the things for the landing gear, seat and cockpitcoaming, was just like the handle bar on the real pics and when i fitted it in the little holes i saw that is was a perfect fit. Smile
Here a pic of the part.

I did it because if have some other lovely kits waiting to be build like a Hasegawa 1:48 F-14A as a NSAWC bird. And the Hasegawa kits are lying in my closet for a half year now and there was almost no room for other kits, i'm not such a kit collector more a builder Laughing

And here is the last update before i start with decalling.

I finished working on the little bits and little paint work. When i left that to dry i started working on the canopies. I added the strut on the inside off the twin seater canopy and on the single seat F-16's i added the opening mechanism behind the seat. Here is a pic of the twin seater canopy.

And after a whilewhen i checked the glue i couldn't resist to test fit the canopy. Man it looks awesome. The golden tint really works his magic.

And i also testfitted the canopy on the single seaters.

After thisn i removed the canopies and stored them so i can install them after the decaslling process. Last bit to add were the horizontale stabs. Don't worrie the stabs on the Belgian F-16AM are not wrongly mounted, it was meant to be placed like this.(Front row left one)

And now future time and after that decalling time, can't wait Applause

Did my frst decalling work today. I'm working on 1 F-16 at a time, from top to bottom of the list, first up; RNLAF F-16BM J-650 313 sqn. The serial is a mix of the decals of the B and MLu kits from Revell. The insignia and tailbands are from the MLu kit. I only need to place some decals on the bottom and then i'm finished with this one.

And for your wiewing pleasure, here is a pic of my workspace. The setup i'm using for decalling the F-16 project. With a little F-16 in the middle waiting to be decalled :taunt:

Finished with the decal sessions. After 14 hours of decallling i have all 5 F-16's ready for the last fases of the build.

Here is the F-16C Block 40 from Aviano in progress, decals were from Astra Decals with some extra Two Bob and Revell decals.

And final bird was the RNLAF J-142 316 sqn 40 years Anniversary bird.
Used decals from Dutch decals together with Revell and Hasegawa (For the arnament panel in front of the MLG) decals

And here is a group shot off the 5 birds. After finishing with the decals.

So now i'm finished with that the final stage comes in motion. That is:

- Checking the decals for silvering and trimming were needed.
- Check if everything is indeed painted.
- Giving them a matt coat.
- Check the antennas.
- Adding the final pieces on the planes.

Here are two pictures for your viewing pleasure. One with the pilot that comes on the 316 sqn bird and one with all the pieces i have to add yet.

Next pictures will be in the Showroom Wink
