Erm well I know its never officially been confirmed however there have been "off the record" confirmations. This of an incident that occured on 8th October 1996 where a HAF M2000 shot down a Turkish F-16D (91-0023).
Before saying the F-16 can cream the M2000... I suggest you actually read this websites report on the incident.
http://www.f-16.net/f-16_fighting_falco ... -3371.html
There is a photo kicking about the web of the pilot being taken to hospital.
From what I know, the TuAF F-16s were on a training mission and were not armed. That may have been a factor that the TuAF F-16s were not able to do much against the HAF Mirages. At the link you have provided, the fact that there was an Israeli pilot in the cockpit all the more alludes to the fact that this was in all liklihood a training mission. |

Yes,I heard that too...I would like to see highly trained IAF F-16's against the best M2000 pilots in action. I would bet my life on IAF! Besides, as the only Nato member that flies both aircraft ,the same HAF has recently ordered another batch of 40 F-16's Block52 instead of the supposedly fine M2000's I wonder why?? |

| The incident where the Turkish F-16 was shot down, I heard, was an accident. The F-16s were not engaged with the Greek Mirages, and to my understanding, it was a tail aspect shot- the F-16 pilot(s) had no idea they were being shot at. Sounds to me not like a case of Airplane vs Airplane but case of a Mirage pilot (inadvertantly?) getting the drop on his enemy. |

| Dollar for dollar, in almost most situations, you get the biggest bang with US technology compared to anything else out there (including European). The fact that HAF has ordered more F-16s is probably not a simple game of politics. The F-16s being ordered are more than a match for even the M2000-5/9 and the Greeks know that they will probably end up paying much less than they would have to if they had turned to the French. |

erm, they bought m2000 with micas as well!
They need a bombtruck and the f-16 is one, more versatile and interoperable. For aircombat they use m2k.
It is no wonder: acceleration is far better exept from low to medium speed, turnarates, climb, speed all speaks for m2k.
