Hey fellas
I was just wondering if any of you here play the game Falcon 4.0 from Microprose? I'm looking for fellow Falcon 4 fighter jocks, especially those from Singapore. Don't see much of them around nowadays...

| I used to fly F4 a lot but my old PC is so 'slow' now that I can't run the updates with decent frame rate. |

Well, I probably have much more Falcon 4 flying hours than anybody on the earth! I have just bought a "millionaire" simulator machine and I play Falcon 4 SP3 a lot now (nice to know that I do better than Habu2 in something ). |

| Well, I'm from Singapore but I don't play the game. I do play European Air War(1998) on my com and it is also by Microprose. I would say this is a very good WWII game... |

I just started to pick up F4 SP3 again (although this site doesn't leave me much time for it) but I don't have any problem running it under XP.
I did find a website however with a "guide for running Falcon 4.0 RPx.x/eF/SPx on Windows NT through Windows XP. "
See: Falcon 4.0 - Windows 2000 and Windows XP |

| Thanks Lieven. I just downloaded the "official" and SP3, guess I'll try to install everything this weekend. I have a new home PC, and haven't installed 4.0 and it has been nearly 1 year since I played. Should be interesting. |

Try out the BMS fix guys. If you have a recent system, it will vastly improve Falcon again... It installs over SP3.

| The BMS has been announced on Dec 20th. The makers claim it will add many up to date enhancements such as RealWeather, enhanced sound effects, TrackIR support, improved animations, realistic packages, avionics and cockpit enhancements, more cockpit switches, more aggressive AI, and many other additions... |

Thanks for information, I will look at it right after posting.
Besides, I also run Falcon 4 with XP and I have no problem at all. |

I had lot of problems using the BMS update with WindowsXP (you can't really keep track with the bms updates - every week there is a new BMS update).
With 1.08+SP3 the simulator runs great in WindowsXP .
And by the way SP4 should be ready in a few weeks and it is sure promising according to the beta testers reviews. |

| Thanks Regevmo... I have installed the game, 1.08 and SP3, so far so good. Now, just to re-learn the sim. |

I play it quite a lot (Falcon 4 SP3 & BMS).
Check http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/foru ... forumid=11 for more info about F4 including the "install dance" procedures if you're having problems with WXP.
BTW. Hi, my first post here |
