Hey Davis,
I am with you 19 years on the 16 and now Kadena on F-15C models. They get mad at me when I ask why so early....I have a good friend at SJ. He runs the demo team. |

Strike Eagle Demo team - what a laugh. oooh see the big gray/green thing either GAB of IFE after pulling 5g's.
Yea, they laugh at me too - - I refuse to conform. In my office I have a "Reason the F-16 is better than the F-15" list. So far, the only thing my cc's have come up with for the F-15 side is the Oxygen system - MSOG instead of a bottle.

Well, my advice is to quickly make MSgt - do your minimum time and then PCS - most likely back to the ROK then to a follow-on. Otherwise prepare to be coated in oil, hydro and grease like you never have before. If a TSgt, you're fighting an uphill battle to expedite - they tend to use the guys with Eagle experience 1st. Coming in 06? When and what AMU? |

Davis,
I know I might sound like a traitor here but.....I am a 19 year F-16 crew chief I got to Kadena and I am now a F-15 Speciasts Section Chief. I have a new found respect for these F-15 Avoinics troops. They work 12 hours a day trying to maintain a 75% FMC rate so we get the weekend off. One surge day 58 sorties 68 Avoinic Pilot Reported Discepranys. Un damn believable how bad these 78 models break.
Plus I am still stuck with the lox bottle.

| Eilson is one of those bases I hardly ever hear about. I had a friend from Anchorage tell me that it wasn't the most desirable place to be in AK. Also, how come some of you spent over 4 years at certain bases? I thought that doesn't happen too often. |

There are guys in the 113th that have been in the unit since we had F-105s. We've had F-16 since 1989. The last guy in the unit to work on F-100s ( ) just retired after......41 years in the Guard!

Senior NCO Shaul, from the IAF Negev Sq' started working on block 5 vipers in febuary 1982
still working today on the f-16I block 52+, so i think it makes him the longest serving f-16 troop.
great guy BTW, and few are more professional then he is.
Cheers.
