Hi. I'm a language teacher for the military. I would like to know what a "pulse jet" is as our book does not explain it. Thanks.

Yo Ho!

Thanks, smiley.

Great ref's.

I was afraid I would have to move from explaining nuke-u-lar weapon theory to jet engines.

I would be forced to explain Gums' theory that pulse jet engines really worked by recruiting a whole lot of angels to crowd the intake while standing forward. After enough air came in, the fuel and air would ignite, causing half of the hot gases to move forward toward the intake. Hovever, this would cause the angels' wings to open, thereby preventing the explosive mixture from escaping out the front of the engine and having to go out the back - thereby creating thrust.

I haven't worked out how the angel wings could take the heat and pressure very long, but if we had enough angels........

out,

And for a practical application, you can look to the WWII German V-1 Buzz Bomb Wink .
