| A failed test or 2 doesn't label the person as a failure, but people don't usually like to admit it when they couldn't hack it. I can't think of a single person who washed out of my career field that I would want working next to me - from the beginning of tech school until now (I'm a 1C151). I should also mention that I have never done a CDC - we do things a little differently in ATC. |

I am sorry i have to write a rebuttal to this. And I am sure there are some people on here that have worked with me and can back me up on this.
Well First off, Yes it did rub me the wrong way. I failed the Managment part, Not the Plane part. I understand I failed. All i was askin was for advice. And Thank god that all the other shops around my base don't feel the same as you. Seeing as u don't know me. Second I am in the Gaurd. So I was never givin the Managment opps that say a AD guy would. I don't do cams cause my former Flt Chief said I didn't have a need to, there for never was givin cams access. I was also not privy to the Ordering parts and what not. It's not that i didn't wanna learn, I just never had a need to order parts on my ! weekend a month. Third of all I was one of the FEW weekenders that did more than Launch and Recover. I did motor swaps, LEF changes, Gear changes and what not. I am an A&P. So it's not that i am not capable.
All I want is for some questions asked before u PERSONALLY attack me. Find out the whole story |

Hey Brian,I replied and gave my cent's to Thomas's post but edited it not to long after, figured what was the point.I totally agree with you and in my original post I pointed out the same things you did,he made assumptions and didn't find out the whole story.
I never did the CAMS/GUIE thing on a regular basis until I moved up to MOC the last year or so of my career, never had to order parts on a regular basis either, you just told the flight chief or a full-time technician and off they went.I too did more than the typical weekender,I did temp-tech on the -220E program, was trainer for my aircraft, did engine pulls,TCTO changes and a whole slew of other non-typical weekender jobs.
So hopefully Thomas now knows more than he did before.
I guess I should have kept the original post,oh well....... |

| Yes I studied. Studied my a$$ off. But I am a hands on type of person. For me it's hard to grasp idea's outta a book that i have never seen or done. But this is not why i posted this topic. I wanted some advice. Didn't wanna get into the whole story. But if u want it, ask I can tell it. But what's the point. it seams that somepeople already know me. I am just a wanna be hack of a airplane Mechanic. I am sure the pilots of the Military and Cilivian Airplanes i have worked on and do work on would Value your thought on someone u don't know. Or atleast that is what i get from thomas. I am done with this topic. all it does it piss me off |

Agreed, I don't feel sorry for him, it is not his cup of tea, sh*t happens, the world needs dig diggers too.
No crying here allowed, I have worked with too many that tried harder...sorry dude, hate me if you want...means nothing to me. I have never failed a test (worked hard, long hours in preparing for anything) so it is all foreign to me, got to hurt though but don't come to this forum with all the talent that exist here, they too have worked and tried hard and from what I have read from most....have made it in our maintenance world. |
