F-15 or Eurofighter Typhoon? the decision will be made soon.
I don't think South Korea will ever consider the the F-35

Frankly everything I have seen is that it is basically an F-15 vs F-35 battle. I can't see Korea wanting to deal with trying to integrate their weapons in the Eurofighter. Were I them I don't even begin to trust that I would get ongoing supplies and support if I was say in a pissing match with China from European suppliers.

With Australia, Japan and likely Singapore going for the F-35 I think that is exactly what Korea does. That offer of billions sounds to me very much like a last ditch effort to bring a failing bid to the forefront.

The Eurofighter just does not make much sense as a military purchase for the ROK. If you want something like that just buy F-15's like the ones you already have.

Agreed. Purchasing the Typhoon makes absolutely no sense at all. My money would be on the F-35. At some point South Korea is going to have to learn to operate with allies who have the F-35, so they might as well get some of their own.

Disco, it's also true the RoKAF will 'have to learn to operate with allies who have the F-15'... so they might as well...?

It's a toss up no doubt, but personally, one could argue that the stealthy 'next-gen' Super Hornet (with austere and short-strip operating advantages) would have been a better interim candidate 'mix' for RoK, and the more strategic multi-role F-15SE a better candidate for JASDF's competition instead of the Shornet?? Oh well. Just my 2 cents.
