I've been seeking work ever since Boeing purchased McDonnell Douglas. With these adds that you read from wherever, do you actually believe what you are reading is actually real?
There are hardly any contracts anywhere, where have all these job openings suddenly opended up from? Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear. |

Allen, I currently work on a contract that Boeing has supporting the Block 15's the NAVY uses as Aggressors at Top Gun. It is a good job the only problem is that it's in Fallon.

That is a problem (Fallon), I worked for McDonnell Douglas on the F-5's out there for a year. Sikorsky is looking for F-5 Tech.'s to go to Key West.
How's those Pakistani Vipers hanging? I was with the original Navy F-16 program back in the 90's with GD/Lockheed in Key West. |

Yeah I get around the problem by living in Reno and commuting an hour each way. The birds are flying alot, the Navy is putting them through their paces. Doing alot of mods on them also. Some are old TCTO's some are not but it's keeping us busy. Actually Boeing will probably be looking for an F-16 Tech here soon. One of my coworkers put in his two week notice yesterday. If anyone out there is interested give me a holler, I know the people who matter out here.

Blaine, the position taht I anticipate opening up is actually an Airframe job. This is the Navy equivalent/combination of an Air Force Hydraulics and Sheet Metal troop. Either of these career fields would qualify you for the job.
Let me know,
Peter |

Sometimes they classify Hydraulics and Fuels under Pneudralics. I don't know if they would take me without any hydraulics experience. Thanks

I know at one time at Hill AFB they hired a whole lot of new guys under the job heading of "pneudraulics specialists". Imagine their surprize when they were pulling foam out of the fuel tanks on a C-130! If your looking for a civilian job at an AF base you might be outta luck until the new fiscal year. |

| Just remember, government contracts are here today and gone tomorrow. There are about 150 guys at Moody who will be out of their jobs soon(BRAC), from what I hear they are only guaranteed jobs until Dec. Have you tried Robins ALC. |

Hey Happy Gilmore and sweetpete
I was with the contracts also in the late 80,s and early 90,s. Oringinaly hire in Oceana as a egress tech on the F-16,s and F-5,s. Eventually ended up working at all three sites (Miramar and NAS boca chica.) Sad day when they sent Top gun to Fallon, [Link pending approval] [Link pending approval] have no words
Happy Gilmore , who are you? We may know each other. My Name is Rick Hayes. Just talked to Ray Agostinelli the other [Link pending approval] was hire recently by Sikorsky in the Keys . Anybody got any info on that contract?
As far as the question [Link pending approval] are openings, you just have to keep looking, but like someone said, those contracts are not long lived. Keep your options flexible and dont plan too far ahead to grow roots in that place whereever it may be.
I work on T-38,s here in [Link pending approval] are positions available here also.
The name of the company is Dyncorp/CSC. |

I've recently been considered for a possible position in an Aviation Commercial Training Facility as a Pilot's system and performance manual editor on Corporate Jet Aircraft. This will probably involve some simulator flying and test flying.
There isn't any definate yet, but my hopes are high. Lets keep this thread open. I will keep everyone posted. |
