I am an instructor at DLI. We are studying the Time Compliance Technical Orders in our military language class. A student asked if the Time Compliance Technical Order is common for the F-16? He also wanted to know how long they take to disseminate? I was wondering if these orders are shared with our allies?

TCTOs are very common. We get them often and almost every jet has one or two open on them pretty much all the time. Now there are different types of TCTOs Urgent action being the most important. They have a pretty short turn time and most of the time the jet is grounded if you get one. I would have to dig out the TOs to remember the time line for each one. It is printed on the coversheet to make it easy for us.

Yep - they are common on nearly all USAF aircraft. Some ground the jet and others might give you months to comply. Some only apply to certain jets equipped in certain ways so they would not be shared if they didn't apply. The manufacturer has their own system (some manufactureres call them Service Letters or Service Bulletins) for disseminating info to all users including those overseas. That would be the normal way for our allies to get the info rather than it coming through USAF channels.
