| The 1-1A-8 will give torque values based on bolt size and type. It goes into material used as well, but not as specific. I don't have the TO with me so I can't quote it, but that is what I remember. |

| Apparently this equation is a universal torque value for "standard torques" without a specified value in an instruction. It applies to engineering as well as SAE and maintenance standards. What that particuliar value of "torque" is, well thats the big question; it's the value you get on the torque wrench when you have a "snug" fit. The material is considered to be steel, as far as bolt size and material it is considered to be irrelevant because you're not over torquing nor under torquing, it's simply a snug fit. |
