Actually there was not any engine [Link pending approval] The Falcon ran out of fuel and the pilot used the flame out procedures!!

The HAF F-16 had escape of fuel. Immediately the pilot went up in the 40,000 feet and used the flame out procedures. Were 10 miles before the airport and 12,000 feet extinguished his engine and HAF pilot landing success and safe.

Congrats to the pilot. This is my 1st post, hehe, I hope there's more to come. Well I guess this is what airforces look for during recruitment of fighter pilots; doing what you've been trained for and using your own initiative for different situations.

What does that "escape of fuel" mean? A fuel leak from internal tanks? or Trapped fuel? Maybe he used too much AB?...

You may forget the best combination:Greek pilot + F-16. There's nothing more I should say! Wink

The missing point here is that HAF is sending rookies up there. Either they are good enough (this guy proved we was) or the situtation is too tight (more than 25 interceptions daily, for the last 6 months is a hell of a job) and doen't have the luxury to leave the burden to the experienced ones.

He was not a "rookie", the pilot flew another type before goin to the F-16's and in any case you will always have "rookies" flying its only natural. This was a textbook flame out landing case 100% succesful.

Obviously he couldn't have 130 hrs in 3-4 years. What I meant was that for the F-16s is a rookie, (probably he was flown A-7)

Are we talking about the commendible ability of a rookie F-16 driver to land an emergency aircraft here, or the national sovereignty and international relations policies of two countries? There are certainly other forums where these issues can be adressed, instead of splitting this far off the initial discussion thread.
