It's a shame they don't take care of the YF-23, it was truly a nice plane form my point of view. It looked far much better to me than the Raptor when they were still in competition together. But the Raptor looks fairly descent right now. But think about how the YF-23 would look like after R&D, i bet it would look even better than the F/A-22 Raptor. And just out of curiosity, when will the Raptor enter service? I heard it was this December but there isn't much news about it and people don't seem to be very excited.

Even though it was quite faded over here, teh canopy was fins and other than the chicken wire in the wheel wells, it was in good shape. There was even a tarp on the canopy the last few years over here. One thing I did note was a good amount of scrounge hidden away in the intakes.

Yet another one that got away from Edwards.

Really nice pictures Habu2! What I'm wondering though is why did they take apart YF-23? The hangar seems to have enough space for the whole thing intact.

Probably disassembled for shipping. It is strange to see a mutli-million dollar engine of wing assembly etc. sitting on old mattresses... Surprised
