I like the dull coloring more. Makes the jet look less BS-ish.

my wife got sent on a "deployment" up there from the 33FW in Florida for an ONE trip; it was better for the FF weaines to fly someone else in and cover their airspace, than for them to burn their flying hours. All the FF squadrons where home at the time, and the 33rd already had people out elsewhere. Politics are bull$hit.

That's known as an AEF rotation, not politics.

That pic is an artist painting nothing more, it's not real. The F/A-18E/F/G uses the same flight control spoiling. ruders out, ailerons up, speed brake up, stabs up.

I get from work those type of pic paintings all the time, like the F-15K flying over a wall in South Korea.

ONE hours and CT hours are different pot of money. They aren't part of the yearly contract with ACC either. ONE is real mission and has a direct tie to the AF mission of protecting the homeland. NEVER rag the missions no matter how mundane they may seem to any of you. I for one would like them to remain as mundane as possible.

If you look VERY CLOSE on pic 1308975, it is just to shiny, a shine of a painting and it does not look real, everything is just too bright and crisp. Then look at the next pic, it look REAL without the shine along with the dark oil/dirt lines..

VPRGUY I'm with you on this one

I work for the company that builds the wing and othere crap on that 250mil A/C and we have the same pic on the OP's wall

go to <a href="http://www.f22-raptor.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">f22-raptor.com</a> and you'll see other jets that look shiny and other photos in this series. Maybe the clarity of hi-res digital images is throwing you of.

Why don't you post a digital photo of your off your ops wall and we'll compare?

I work at IDS and the only thing that fly out of our plant is F-15E/K/S, F-18E/F/G, T-45.

We don't build a single part of the f-22 but we did built most of the better F-23

FOD-- Seattle has not had much recent involving in fighter A/C till after the merger and did not really care about nor was it a MAJOR concern to them about FOD.

C-17 back at ship 1 FOD was like FOD WHATS THAT. Basically both places delt with civi A/C and had no dealings with military FOD (it does not do rolls and loops so why clean up). I was over a Douglas after the A-12, teaching them how to there own job.

It hard to rip a pic that is plasterd on the wall besides DOD security don't like that

CALHOUN thank you but do you know on that A/C the contract year?
If so you can type it in at scramble.nl and find that last known status of it or of any other A/C.

SHINY PAINT mil A/C don't like to use it because of reflection or sparkle, just look at a civi jet and you can see a shine/sparkle/reflection that's why they went from a silver A/C to a flat painted one.

Not anymore!

Quote:
The Air Force attributes a large portion of the shortfall to Operation Noble Eagle, the domestic combat air patrols flown since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

For the first time in three years, the Air Force has had to use its own money to pay for the missions. They had been financed through wartime supplemental funding requests separate from the service’s baseline budget.

VPRGUY,
I assumed your wife went to Langley because Eglin was in the bucket for an AEF rotation at the time. If not, then I stand corrected, but it's extremely unusual for CONR to tap an active duty unit for a deployment when their not in their AEF period.

F-22s are very shiny. Seems strange to me too, but they are.

Thats ok, simple misunderstanding Smile That shiny paint may be uninitentionaly, now that I think about it. When the first block 50's hit eglin with their fancy new paint, people merrily scrubbed away cleaning the airplane as usual; after a bit, it damaged the paint and it took that 'shiny' silver look. You could even see the individual 'scrubs' in the paint Smile Even new, it was still more shiny that the previous paint, but not too much.

The picture in question is on http://www.af.mil/photos/index.asp?galleryID=2. Show the same picture and gives credit to the individual who snaped the photo.
